Still life of roses and fruit with concealed erotic scenes. Oil painting by Summonte. This frame has 5 separate paintings all contained within it. Two wooden panels can be lifted out of the frame to view them. The first wooden panel has a painting of roses and this is the only painting visible from the outside. On the reverse side of this woodens panel is a painting of three figures.  The second wooden panel behind this has a painting of figs and a tomato and on the reverse side of this panel there is a painting of an erotic scenes. Behind these two wooden panels is the third painting of two people in an erotic scene. Iconographic

Wilhelm von Plüschow (1852-1930). Catalogue number: 10070. This image is a good example of the confusion currently created by art dealers. A print of this image by Plüschow has been auctioned online as "Vincenzo Galdi, Taormina", whereas Taormina was the living place of Gloeden, not Galdi. However, the catalogue number shows that the author can only be Plüschow, since neither Galdi's nor Gloeden's catalogue numbered above 4000. Created: 1895/1907
