Ein hölzernes Rollgerüst bildet den bühnenartigen Rahmen für ein umfangreiches Themenspektrum. Die kinetische Installation bildet eine Art „Theater des Lebens“ ab – mit allerlei Anspielungen auf Wertmaßstäbe, Machtverhältnisse, Ideale, Moralvorstellungen – und hält hier und da einen imaginären Spiegel für uns bereit. Zahlreiche Zeugnisse vergangener Tage führen einen oftmals unauffällig vollzogenen Wertewandel vor Augen und wirken – aus heutiger Sicht – mitunter provokant bis polarisierend. Ähnlich den rhetorischen Fragen in Bob Dylans Song „Blowin' In The Wind“ von 1962 stellt das kinetische Konstrukt mit all seinen neu inszenierten Bestandteilen eine Menge Fragen in den Raum; The answer is … Ganz nebenbei ziehen Hosenklemmbügel ziellos ihre Bahnen, Polierscheiben wienern sinnfrei die Luft, Fellmützen und Herrenhüte taumeln im Windzug der Gebläseschaufeln einer Windfege. "Djinni in a Bottle" (2020) was painted by Bruce Black. This painting has an exotic quality brought about through warm curry colored yellows, bright oranges, and blacks tones. On the left side, a blue and black oval mass circles around an orange circle, similar to an eye or a galaxy. An orange bar moves through the center and a black rectangle appears on the bottom right. This painting has been created in Black's unique abstract style of watercolor painting. Marks move across the page similar to calligraphy and the viewer is left to interpret the symbols and deeper meaning of the artwork. Bruce Black (1970-) lives and works in Phoenix Arizona.
