Rueland Frueauf the Elder Painter.

 Rueland Frueauf il Vecchio (c. 1440 – 1507) è stato un pittore tardo-gotico austriaco. Biografia Frueauf è nato a Obernberg am Inn e vi ha vissuto e lavorato per gran parte della sua vita. Dipinse principalmente affreschi nelle chiese locali. Nel 1484 fu nominato consulente per lavorare con Michael Pacher su una pala d'altare per l'Ordine Francescano. Anche suo figlio Rueland Frueauf il Giovane divenne pittore. Frueauf il Vecchio morì a Passau nel 1507.

 

Rueland Frueauf the Elder (c. 1440 – 1507) was an Austrian Late-Gothic painter.

Biography

Frueauf was born in Obernberg am Inn, and lived and worked there most of his life. He primarily painted frescoes in local churches. In 1484 he was appointed as a consultant to work with Michael Pacher on an altarpiece for the Franciscan Order. His son Rueland Frueauf the Younger also became a painter. Frueauf the Elder died in Passau in 1507.
