The true part of the tragedy that is Larfleeze is that no matter how much he has, he will never truly be happy until he gets the one thing he wants the most above all. His hunger, so to speak, will never be satiated.
And that, imho, is what makes him a pitiable character, no matter what incarnation it is.
I wanted to try and capture some of that inherent sadness in this. Not sure if I succeeded. I think Larfleeze is a really interesting character, especially if you look at his earliest appearances in the comics, before Johns devolved him into comic relief. GLTAS did a pretty good job, I feel, of capturing every iteration of him in 28 minutes or less. A shame we won’t get to see more, or where they would have taken him characterization-wise from there.
