 "Prospects"

My little darling, don't you cry!
Don't try the life to modify.
Today let's passionately meet
on our creasy creamy sheet.
Morrow, what's morrow? May one say?
Morrow in coffins we shall lay.

 "The Song of a Libertine"

I won't die of taxing toil,
Won't die of poverty,
Nor will I melt in boiling oil,
I'll die of syphilis.

Hippolyte Havel (1871 - 1950), Czech anarchist
Hippolyte Havel (1871–1950) was a Czech-American anarchist who was known as an activist in the United States and part of the radical circle around Emma Goldman in the early 20th century. He had been imprisoned as a young man in Austria-Hungary because of his political activities, but made his way to London. There he met anarchist Emma Goldman on a lecture tour from the United States. She befriended him and he immigrated to the US.

He settled in Greenwich Village, New York, a center of radicals, artists and writers. He declared the neighborhood to be "a spiritual zone of mind". For a time he and his wife ran a restaurant in the village. He also edited radical journals. He was close friends with Emma Goldman, and also became friends with playwright Eugene O'Neill, and various others in the artistic circles.

He was a pioneer and co-founder of the early phases of the abstract art movement and Orphic Cubism (Orphism). Kupka's abstract works arose from a base of realism, but later evolved into pure abstract art.

Anti-fascist in Prague, Czech Republic

As is known, I have  no sympathies for judicial system. I consider it as part of the repressive instruments of capitalism, of which I am an opponent. Nevertheless, I decided to try to defend myself in court regarding the weak “evidences” that the ÚOOZ presents against me. I realize that this election means fight on the enemy’s territory with limited resources. That’s the reason why I don’t have exaggerated expectations or illusions that the court would be an independent institution that could serve to emancipation struggle.
I will defend myself in court, but I still stand behind that the anarchist struggle must be based primarily on the subversive logic of direct action rather than relying on institutional instruments of  the state and indirect (representatives mediated) forms of action. From what I have been saying and doing since years, it’s clear what kind of struggle I prefer. I will  keep acting according to that and I want the same from the people who is in solidarity with me.

Czech Republic: A statement of anarchist Lukáš Borl captured and imprisoned

The death has been announced of the veteran anarchist Jakub Polák, regarded as the leading light of the Czechoslovak and later Czech anarchist movement. The founder of numerous anarchist initiatives and long-time editor of the anarchist paper A-kontra, Polák was perhaps best known for his public – and at times unpopular – defence of the Roma communit

One of the most notorious race-related killings in the early years of the independent Czech Republic was the drowning of the Roma teenager Tibor Danihel by neo-Nazi skinheads in the town of Písek in September 1993. Ondřej Slačálek says it was largely thanks to Polák’s tireless campaigning that Danihel’s killers were finally put behind bars

IGOR
Ahoj soudruzi,
