Alaina Varrone is an embroidery artist from New Haven, Connecticut. Born in 1982 to a family of weirdos and storytellers, she uses this natural creativity to tell her own stories in thread. She attended Maryland Institute College of Art as a fiber arts student, then attended Columbia University to study cultural anthropology with a concentration in theology. She is influenced by history, culture, and the esoteric, with a focus on strong female characters.
