Claire Wendling was in her third year at the Art college in Angoulême
when she won the "Alph' Art Avenir" prize in 1989. She participates to
the volume 1 of "Enfants du Nil". In 1990 Claire Wendling began her most
famous series " The Lights of Amelou " with scenario writer Christophe
Gibelin , followed by the best young illustrator prize in 1992 for her
magazine covers of “Player One”.
Then Wendling works in the USA on the cartoon "Excalibur" for Warner.
With her Artbooks : "Desk", "Drawers", "Iguana Bay", Wendling shows that
she knows how to handle several graphic kinds, from style "toons" to
more classic painting, and several types of universefrom realism to
fantasy.
After the fantasy, Wendling approaches the eroticism with "Aphrodite"
who presents several very sensual illustrations … She( participated in
the box collector of Sky doll by illustrating and by putting in page a
notebook tribute to Barbucci and Canepa.
