Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg - Narcissus. Eckersberg's original painting was somewhat larger, also showing the head af Amor to the right. Before finishing it, Eckersberg painted over Amor and cut the painting. The present appearance dates from a removal of the covering paint, done in the 20th century.

The date in the inscription was 1908, but Christensen cited the work as one of Zahrtmann's 1909 paintings. For some reason Bruun Rasmussen chose to show a heavyly cropped version of this painting on their website.
