E 'stato uno dei pochi artisti che hanno assistito e documentato l'intensa trasformazione sociale ed economica del Qatar negli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta, dopo la scoperta del petrolio.

This Qatari artist is ‘beautifying what is old and abandoned’
 Doha: Qatar has got its own ‘Banksy’ who has taken the task of spray-painting the old and abandoned walls and streets with his magnanimous artworks.

Mubarak Al Malik’s graffiti work can be seen on numerous abandoned buildings and yards around the country, including some private buildings and farms.

In many countries graffiti art is considered a notorious form of art mainly to criticise the government.

But Al Malik believes his art is serving a different purpose altogether: Beautifying what is old and abandoned.
